Mas a paz é sempre tão frágil Com o aumento da pobreza, muitas pessoas perderam a fé no rei e na sua capacidade de os liderar e procuram a independência da coroa. Como viscondes, devemos ser sábios e decididos. A lealdade deve ser mantida, mas ganhar o favor do povo deve ser a nossa prioridade, caso haja uma mudança repentina no poder. O objetivo dos Viscounts of the West Kingdom é ser o jogador com mais pontos de vitória no final do jogo. Os pontos são ganhos construindo edifícios, escrevendo manuscritos, trabalhando no castelo e adquirindo títulos para novos terrenos. Os jogadores começam com um punhado de habitantes da cidade, mas devem rapidamente procurar talentos mais adequados para avançar em seus empreendimentos.
